The Northern Sun Conference has honored a University of Sioux Falls runner as Cross Country Performer of the Week.

Mason Phillips (So., Bailey, Colo. / Platte Canyon HS)
Sioux Falls
– Won the Roy Griak Maroon II 8K race with a time of 25:31
– Became the first USF student-athlete to win the prestigious race
– Led a group of three USF runners in the top 17 at one of the top cross country meets in the Midwest
– With 1,000 meters to go, Phillips broke from the pack and won the race by 29 seconds
– In two competitions, has won two individual titles (Augustana Twilight)
– First USF student-athlete to earn USTFCCCA National of the Week honors
