This week, Deputy Ag Secretary Michael Scuse is leading a trade mission to Mexico designed to boost ethanol exports. The U.S. Grains Council is part of that mission. Council Chairman Alan Tiemann says Mexico is making market changes that will lead to a greater potential for more ethanol business.
He says Mexican government officials want to have a cleaner burning fuel for their country and ethanol meets that need.
Tiemann says export markets for U.S. ethanol are growing around the globe.
He says other countries that are interested in purchasing U.S. ethanol include Japan, Peru, Chile, the Philippines, China and India.
