Over $9.6 billion in payments are going out this week for producers through the USDA Agriculture Risk Coverage, Price Loss Coverage and Conservation Reserve programs nationwide. That funding is for the 2016-2017 crop year that ended September 30. South Dakota Farm Service Agency Acting Executive Director Jaime White says producers who have enrolled in the ARC, PLC and CRP programs at their county FSA office will be getting the payments.
She says the drought this year is having a big effect on the farm safety net payments.
White says any questions should be directed to the farmer’s county FSA office.
$ 8 Billion is being distributed for ARC and PLC programs and $ 1.6 Billion nationally for CRP for 2017. The CRP funding will go out following the distribution of ARC and PLC monies.
