The U-S Department of Agriculture wants to focus more attention on urban agriculture and specialty crops.  During a recent U-S House Agriculture Committee hearing, Terry Cosby, the chief of the Natural Resources and Conservation Services, testified as to how the USDA is expanding urban agriculture.  Cosby says since the program started, the USDA has funded 37 awards totaling more than $3 million dollars.  He says the NRCS has teamed up with FSA to provide additional service centers in urban areas.
