The American Farm Bureau, National Farmers Union and USDA are continuing to work on helping rural Americans impacted by the opioid crisis. Farm Bureau’s Will Rodger says USDA is beginning a series of round table discussions on opioid misuse.
Rodger agrees with USDA’s Anne Hazlett that the rural opioid epidemic goes beyond a public health issue and is a matter of rural prosperity.
He says the severity of opioid addiction is alarming in Rural America.
Rodger says anyone needing referral for help can go to the Farm Town Strong website. The USDA roundtables begin March 14 in Pennsylvania with subsequent sessions in Utah, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Maine.
