The USDA has extended the deadline for enrollment in the General Conservation Reserve Program. South Dakota Farm Service Agency CRP Coordinator Owen Fagerhaug says the original deadline had been February 12 but now It has been extended indefinitely as details are still a bit sketchy.

He says the Biden administration is trying to tweak the program in order to get more people to enroll as well as to improve the overall CRP.

Fagerhaug says there are several reasons why the CRP is one of the most popular conservation programs in South Dakota.

Fagerhaug says anyone interested in CRP or any USDA conservation programs should get in touch with their county FSA office.
