USDA Crop Production Forecast

U-S Department of Agriculture is forecasting the corn crop to decline from last year’s production.  In the crop production report issued on Monday, corn production is expected to drop three percent from the previous report, and down eight percent from 2021.  The USDA predicts a corn production of 13.9 billion bushels.  Corn yields are expected to average 172.5 bushels per acre.  Soybean production is forecast at 4.38 billion bushes, down three percent from the previous forecast and one percent lower from 2021.  The average yield is expected to be at 50.5 bushels per acre, down 1.4 bushels from the previous forecast, and down .9 bushel from 2021.
