The U.S. Department of Agriculture has set a July 23, 2021 deadline for producers and landowners to apply for Conservation Reserve Program General Sign-up. The Department also will accept applications for C-R-P Grasslands from July 12 to August 20. Bobbie Kriz Wickham with the Nebraska State office of the Farm Service Agency says these enrollments are now re-opened following the administration reviewing those programs following sign ups earlier this spring.

She says those who applied earlier and have a pending application should respond when they receive correspondence from the USDA and follow through by contacting their local FSA office.

Wickham says those interested in the Grasslands CRP program can enroll beginning July 12.

One of the new components of the General CRP is a new Climate-Smart Practice Incentive for practices that sequester carbon and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. For more information check with your local FSA service center.
