South Dakota women’s basketball ranked 10th nationally for the largest home attendance increase in 2015-16.
The Coyotes averaged 2,333 fans per game in the DakotaDome’s final basketball season. A total of 41,991 entered through the DakotaDome doors over the course of 18 home games.
South Dakota hosted five of six games en route to winning the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. Nearly 20,000 fans attended the tournament, with a sell-out crowd of 7,415 in attendance as the Coyotes beat Florida Gulf Coast in the WNIT Championship game.
The attendance figure was an improvement of 764 fans per game as USD averaged 1,568 per game in 2014-15.
The Coyotes move into the state-of-the-art Sanford Coyote Sports Center for the 2016-17 season.
