South Dakota junior Hayley Dotseth led the pack with 14 kills and 11 digs to give South Dakota the volleyball win over South Dakota State with scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-20.

The win over the Jackrabbits give the Coyotes a 3-2 lead in the South Dakota Showdown Series.

Alongside Dotseth’s 14 kills, Brittany Jessen contributed nine kills on 17 attempts to give her a .471 hitting percentage while tallying 34 assists. Elizabeth Loschen hammered eight more kills for the Coyotes.

It was a combined effort on the defensive end for South Dakota. Anne Rasmussen led the way with 15 digs. Dotseth added her 11 as Mehana Fonseca recorded 10 digs with Kristina Susak contributing nine more.

For the Jackrabbits, Ashlynn Smith led the way with 10 kills and 11 digs. Hannah Jellema and Macy Smith each added nine to the South Dakota State offense. Defensively, Ellie Benson tallied 22 digs in addition to Smith’s 11.
