South Dakota women’s cross country successfully defended their Summit League Championship title at the Edgebrook Golf Course on Saturday. The Coyote men finished fourth.
.- South Dakota State men’s and women’s teams captured runner-up titles at the 2015 Summit League Cross Country Championships.
Coyote senior Amber Eichkorn also repeated as the league’s individual runner-up. North Dakota State’s Erin Teschuk took the individual title in 20 minutes, 43 seconds, a mere two seconds off of Oral Roberts’ Diana Chelimo’s league record time from 2006. Eichkorn followed behind, crossing the tape in 21:07.43 for first-team all-Summit League honors.
Jackrabbit senior Trent Lusignan, a native of Shakopee, Minn., added another Summit League championship title to his career, finishing the 8,000-meter race in 24 minutes, 29.7 seconds. Lusignan becomes the ninth men’s runner to earn two individual titles.
