USD, SDSU Punters Honored

South Dakota sophomore Miles Bergner and South Dakota State senior Ethan Sawyer have been named to the 2014 College Football Performance Awards FCS Punter Award Watch List.

They are two of 38 players selected to the list including five from the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

Bergner averaged 40.4 yards per punt as a true freshman in 2013, which ranked in the top 40 nationally. He pinned 16 inside the 20-yard line and had six downed inside the 10. He had nine punts of 50 yards or more.

Sawyer averaged 40.3 yards per punt and put 19 inside the 20-yard line. His long punt of the season was good for 58 yards.
