USD, SDSU Golfers Honored

South Dakota State’s Grant Smith and South Dakota’s Brenna Lervick were named The Summit League’s Male and Female Golfers of the Week for their performances March 12-17.

 

MALE GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Grant Smith, South Dakota State

So. // Des Moines, Iowa

Smith collects his first career Golfer of the Week honor after placing seventh at the Jackrabbit Invitational last week. The sophomore fired a 54-hole 206 (70-71-65) for his fourth top-10 finish of the season. His third round 65 tied the school record as South Dakota State placed sixth out of 15 teams in the event.

FEMALE GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Brenna Lervick, South Dakota

So. // Chanhassen, Minn.

Lervick earns her second Golfer of the Week award this season after tying for first place at the Jackrabbit Invitational. She finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 212 (71-69-72). Her second round 69 was tied for the second-lowest round of the tournament. Earlier in the week, Lervick fired a 156 at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational. For the week, Lervick had three rounds of par or lower with a stroke average of 73.6 in the two events.
