South Dakota’s Madison Frain has been named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for her performances during the Coyotes’ three-game sweep of IUPUI Saturday and Sunday.
It is the second such honor for Frain, a senior from Creston, Iowa.
Frain pitched two complete games, including one shutout, and earned a four-out save to factor in all three South Dakota victories. She allowed nine hits and one run in 15 1/3 innings of work for an ERA of 0.46. She struck out a season-high 10 batters in Sunday’s 2-0 win and had 15 strikeouts during the series.
South Dakota (12-26, 7-2 Summit) hosts Kansas City for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
