Shelly Stumpff, who served as a graduate assistant for South Dakota’s volleyball team last season, has been named an assistant coach for the program head coach Leanne Williamson announced recently.
Stumpff hails from Iowa City, Iowa, and had a decorated collegiate volleyball career at Wingate University in Wingate, N.C. In four seasons from 2012-15, Stumpff led the Bulldogs to a 125-14 record with four conference titles, four NCAA tournament appearances, and three trips to the Elite Eight. Stumpff was named SAC and Southeast Region Freshman of the Year in 2012, and was SAC Player of the Year as a senior in 2015.
