After a wild first half, the South Dakota men’s basketball team settled into a rhythm in the second half to defeat UMKC 82-63 Thursday night in Kansas City, Missouri.
South Dakota improves to 7-2 on the season as UMKC, of the Western Athletic Conference, falls to 3-6.
South Dakota used a 16-3 run in the second half to turn an eight-point lead into a 21-point advantage with 11:51 remaining in the game.
Matt Mooney tallied a game-high 30 points while Nick Fuller scored a career-high 15 points in the victory. Carlton Hurst ended the game with 11 points and Trey Burch-Manning nearly had a double-double with 14 rebounds and eight points.
