South Dakota moved into first place in The Summit League Commissioner’s Cup standings following the winter season of the 2016-17 academic year with 57.5 points.
The Coyotes are also first in the Dr. Helen Smiley Women’s All-Sports Award Standings, while South Dakota State is atop in the Dr. William Steinbrecher Men’s All-Sports Award Standings.
North Dakota State sits in second place with 52.5 points followed closely by South Dakota State’s 50 points. In fourth place is IUPUI with 42.5 points and Denver comes in fifth with 40.5 total points. Omaha (32.5 points), Oral Roberts (29.5 points), Western Illinois (29 points) and Fort Wayne (24 points) round out the standings.
South Dakota ranks No. 1 in the Commissioner’s Cup standings after securing three first-place finishes (women’s cross country, volleyball, men’s basketball) this season. The Coyotes also took second in women’s indoor track & field and third in women’s swimming & diving and men’s indoor track & field).
The Bison are in second after capturing league titles in women’s soccer, men’s indoor track & field and women’s indoor track & field. NDSU also placed second in women’s cross country and men’s basketball.
The Jackrabbits are atop the men’s award standings and sit in third place overall after claiming the men’s cross country title and taking second in men’s indoor track & field and women’s basketball.
