The South Dakota women’s golf team tied a program record with a final round 295 (+7) and placed fifth at UAB’s Fall Beach Blast Tournament held Monday and Tuesday at The Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club.
The 36-hole event featured 59 players and 11 teams. Fourteen strokes separated first place from 10th in the team race.

Lervick (69), Dufrane (70), Vincent (74) and Lexi Peterson (82) combined for the 295. Vincent’s opening round 71 was her first collegiate sub-par round. The Coyotes shot 306 Monday for a team total of 601.
Southern Mississippi had one golfer finish in the top 15, but four in the top 22 was good enough to take the team title. The Golden Eagles’ 593 was two strokes better than McNeese State and three better than both Western Kentucky and Tennessee Tech.
