South Dakota assistant coach Aaron Horn has been named as one of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 honorees.
The WBCA’s Thirty Under 30 program was developed to recognize and honor 30 up-and-coming women’s basketball coaches age 30 and under at all levels of the game. Horn is a member of the program’s second class.
“It is a tremendous honor to be mentioned alongside a remarkable group of young leaders,” said Horn. “The game of basketball has provided me so many opportunities. My love for the sport makes it easy to bring passion and energy to work every day. I feel truly blessed to be around the game for a living and coach at the University of South Dakota, a university that has unbelievable support for its women’s basketball program.
Horn joined the Coyote coaching staff in May under first-year head coach Dawn Plitzuweit. The Coyotes reached 20 wins for the third consecutive season and fifth time in nine years at the Division I level. USD also earned its seventh consecutive postseason berth, advancing to the second round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. Horn’s responsibilities include providing detailed opponent scouting reports, player development and camp organization.
