The U.S. Cattlemen’s Association is urging President Donald Trump to reinstate country of origin labeling for beef in the USMCA trade agreement. USCA’s Lia Biondo says they’ve been pushing for COOL’s inclusion for some time and this week with their members in Washington D.C. are stepping up that request.
She says the impacts of not having COOL in place has led to a drop in prices for U.S. cattle and has led to consumer confusion.
Biondo says they’re using all avenues they can use to get COOL reinstated in the NAFTA remake.
Biondo says they’re also weighing in with the Administration.
