The United States Cattlemen’s Association sent a letter this week to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg asking for immediate regulatory relief for livestock haulers. USCA President Brooke Miller says their request follows impact of the CYBER Attack on the World’s largest meat processor, JBS .

He says the transportation regulatory relief is needed to ensure that grocery store shelves stay stocked of fresh meat products. Miller says the CYBER attack also shows the necessity of getting more meat processors operating.

Miller says it’s a major problem to have only 4 meatpackers controlling the processing industry and it’s critical those processors be divested.

Miller says it’s important regulatory relief for livestock haulers include relaxation of the hours of service regulations.
