Late last week the United Soybean Board wrapped up their annual meeting by choosing leadership for the coming year. Chosen as Chairman is Bob Haselwood who farms near Barrington, Kansas. He says one of his priorities is enhancing sales of soybean meal and working for a higher market advantage for it over our competitors.
Outgoing Chairman Jim Call of Madison, Minnesota says developing new traits for soybean meal should help the U.S. get more market share over our South American competitors.
Call says in the future growers may produce two different kinds of soybean meal, one for use in chicken feed, the other for swine.
Call says being able to grow those different types of soybean meal will give U.S. growers an edge over their competition.
