The US Senate is attempting to restart a normal course of appropriations.

South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says spending bills have been contained in massive omnibus bills for a number of years

Rounds says they are about to move a spending bill much earlier than in the past

The first bill deals with energy and water, and would spend about thirty seven billion dollars. Rounds says he added an amendment to the bill

Rounds says they hope to have the process completed by mid to late summer.

Rounds was a guest on Drivetime with Fred & Tom on 570 WNAX yesterday.
