The US Senate passed a broad, two-year budget deal Thursday that increases spending and eliminates the threat of a debt default until after the 2020 election. It was approved on a vote of 67 to 28.

The deal increases military and domestic spending by three hundred twenty billion dollars over two years. The federal deficit is also projected to grow past one trillion dollars by the end of the year.
