Health officials are warnings about a bug that is very difficult to treat due to antibiotic resistance. Dr. Mark Rupp is an infectious disease specialist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and says it is a bacteria that is tough to treat.

Rupp says this can only be detected by testing a culture in a lab. He says the antibiotics typically used to treat an infection for pneumonia or other illnesses do not work
He says it mimics other bacteria that causes health problems.

Rupp says people should only take antibiotics when they are absolutely necessary.
