The University of Nebraska Medical Center College Of Nursing is in the process of recruiting 36 students into the master’s degree program to prepare more nurse practitioner students.  Associate Professor Dr. Lynne Buchanan is the principal investigator of the $1.2 million grant that is aimed at bringing medical care to rural areas of the state.

Buchanan says their goal is to recruit nurse practitioner students who want to get their clinical experience in underserved rural areas of the state.

Buchannan says the grant will help students learn how to use telehealth to expand the reach of clinical services throughout the rural areas.
