The Nebraska Biocontainment Unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine in Omaha hosted a training class this week on how to care for patients infected with illnesses like Ebola. Dr. Robert Kadlec (CAD-lur) is the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and was impressed with what he saw.

in 2016, UNMC – Nebraska Medicine was selected to create the training, simulation and quarantine center that will be run by the UNMC Global Center for Health Security. They will train federal health care personnel in procedures dealing with dangerous disease. That center should open in 2019.
