UNL Economist: Federal Reserve will Raise Interest Rates

Now that the General Election is over, a University of Nebraska economist thinks the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates next month.
UNL Bureau of Business Research director Eric Thompson says productivity is still sluggish, but other indicators point to a rate hike.

Thompson says stock markets have already factored in a modest rate hike.

Thompson says a down side would be that some variable interest rates, like with credit cards, would go up as well.
