The University of Nebraska system will save $12.3 million dollars a year by switching insurance providers.

The Board of Regents is expected to approve a plan to use UMR/United for health coverage and Ameritas for dental.

University spokeswoman Melissa Lee says employees will see few changes from Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Lee says the change comes after a comprehensive review of all benefits.

Lee says their networks are very similar to what Blue Cross Blue Shield now offers.
