Millard – Ralston State Senator Merv Riepe introduced a legislative resolution last week that would explore the possibility of merging the University of Nebraska – Omaha and the University of Nebraska Medical Center into one.
Riepe says the two campuses already share a chancellor and work together on projects so the merger is logical.
However, Riepe says the resolution he introduced calls for a study of the merger with plenty of oversight. They want to weigh the advantages and disadvantages and look at how this would impact taxpayers and how it could benefit the state as a whole.
