The University of Nebraska Medical Center has launched four “Simulation-In-Motion Nebraska” trucks. The 44-foot long customized trucks will travel the state and provide free training to rural emergency medical service agencies and hospitals. UNMC Chancellor Dr. Jeffrey Gold says it is extremely important that these rural medical providers get the best training.
Gold says the training to rural emergency medical service agencies comes at no cost.
Each truck can simulate emergency rooms and ambulances. The also come with computerized mannequins that can talk, breathe, have heartbeats and can react to medications and other actions. Each mobile unit comes with the supplies to create a realistic environment for emergency and trauma scenarios.
