Nebraska State Auditor Mike Foley says a recent audit by his staff has disclosed abuse in the travel reimbursement system at the University of Nebraska.
The four-campus system spends about $30 million a year on travel.
Foley says his staff uncovered $96,000 in first-class airline tickets, which is against state policy.

State workers can travel first-class, but must pay the difference in traveling coach.
Foley says the Board of Regents needs to address the issue.

Foley says the university system needs better procedures to track and monitor expenses.
