The United States Cattlemen’s Association has several concerns with a potential US-Brazil Free Trade Agreement. That emerged following the recent Presidential election in Brazil and U.S. President Donald Trump speaking with Brazil’s new President indicating he sees a trade deal happening between the two countries. U.S. Cattlemen’s Association President Kenny Graner says Brazil has a history of being a bad actor.

He says its critical that U.S. beef industry stakeholders are a big part of any discussion regarding a possible trade pact with Brazil.

Graner says besides the bribery and inspection problems in Brazil, that country also has foot and mouth disease prevalent in their nation.

Graner says if F-M-D were to get into the United States it would be devastating for our cattle industry.
