United States Cattlemen Association members are pleased the Trump administration is following through on a campaign promise to redo the North American Free Trade Agreement. USCA Executive Vice President Jess Peterson says they want the administration to work to get Country of Origin Labeling reinstated by putting it into the new NAFTA.

He says there are many other important components of NAFTA that need to be strengthened centering around animal health and having anti dumping regulations as part of the deal.

Peterson says his group intends to advise the U.S. Trade Representative as he moves forward with the NAFTA modernization.

Peterson says his group wants to make sure any new North American Free Trade Agreement ensures cattle and beef products are traded freely and fairly under an improved modernized pact.
