Last week, United States Cattlemen’s Association marketing chair Allan Sents met with members of Congress and administration officials to talk about reauthorization of Mandatory Price Reporting. He says the program isn’t up for renewal again until 2020, but his group wants to get a head start on the process. Sents says one of their suggestions for improving MPR would involve changing the definition of a cash sale.
He says they’re also recommending adding the week of delivery to the committed sale category.
Sents says by including their suggestions for Mandatory Price Reporting it would make a more transparent and open market.
Sents says with a new administration in place, it’s important for his organization to get their issues out in front of policy makers as soon as possible.
