The United Soybean Board set goals for 2020 at their December meeting include improving farmer profitability by focusing on meal, oil and sustainability. USB Secretary and Toronto, South Dakota farmer David Iverson says they’re funding research to prove how U.S. soybean meal, which has a higher amino acid profile is more efficient in livestock rations.

Another objective is to focus research on the benefits of high oleic soybean oil, not just for human consumption but in industrial uses.

Iverson says by adding value to existing soy products it helps to improve soybean prices.

Soybean farmers are also promoting sustainability. Through technology they can grow more soybeans and use fewer acres, which helps both the planet and their bottom line.
