This week the Union County South Dakota Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to join in support of the landowners suing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers over flood damage.  Board Commissioner Doyle Karpen says after an earlier flooding lawsuit was thrown out the Board decided to hook up with the Polsinelli law firm representing the landowners in this case.

Karpen says the 2011 flood effected a large number of Union County producers and caused extensive damage.

Karpen says he prays that the type of flood that hit in 2011 doesn’t happen again.
