Unemployment Claims Expected to Stay High

In the past week just over fifty-one hundred new unemployment claims were processed by the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation. That was up over twelve hundred from the week before.

Department Secretary Marcia Hultman says they expected that rise….

Hultman says they expect claim numbers to run high for some time….

The state has had over forty-one thousand unemployment claims filed since mid-March, with over twenty-three thousand filing for more than one week of benefits.
