The United Autoworkers Union International voted down a contract with Deere and Company Tuesday night. It’s the second time the Union has rejected management’s offer.. . Nebraska Farm Bureau Senior Economist Jay (rem-pee) Rempe says ag interests remain hopeful the two sides will eventually come to a deal on a contract and put a dent in the display disruptions caused by the port slowdown

He says having the supply of tractors and farm equipment is paramount to producers getting through harvest.

Rempe says one thing Farmers and Ranchers have been able to realize through the trade war, low commodity prices, the pandemic and now this strike continuing is how each spoke of the farm economy is attached to the other and if one suffers so does the other.

The more than 10,000 DEERE employees are remaining on strike.
