This week, U.S. Wheat Associates is holding its biannual staff conference in Guatemala. Steve Mercer of U.S. Wheat Associates says the Central American country is a great customer of U.S. wheat, as well as other countries in that region.

Mercer says another reason they’re meeting in Guatemala is because of the location of a large milling company there.

Mercer says there are several reasons Guatemalans prefer U.S. wheat, largely because of its value and quality.

Mercer says the conference is an opportunity for industry members to talk about what’s working on the trade front and to continue to build relationships with foreign buyers.
