The U-S Trade Representative’s office has announced it is taking official action against Mexico for placing a ban on U-S GMO corn. U-S Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa says he has been in contact with Ambassador Tye of the Trade Representative office.
Grassley says when he was chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and the USMCA agreement was being negotiated, he wanted to make certain the agreement had some leverage to enforce the agreed terms in case trade disputes erupted.
Grassley says Mexico’s ban on U-S corn will only lead to additional cases of global hunger.
Grassley supports the legal actions of the U-S Trade Representative.
