The Specialty Soya and Grain Alliance has introduced U.S. Identity Preserved, a designation or brand mark, signifying a premium crop with a verifiable origin. Manager of Strategic Programs Shane Frederick says this quality assurance program represents a significant advancement in food traceability for manufacturers, processors, and exporters.

He says more and more consumers and manufacturers are seeking grains and oilseeds with specific traits and qualities and they also want traceability. U.S. specialty growers can provide that from fork-to-farm.

Frederick says with the guarantee of traceability and a quality, safe and consistent product also translates into premiums for growers.

U.S. Identity Preserved will also help U.S. processors and exporters broaden access and open more foreign markets, plus better compete in the international market.
