The U.S. continues to face trade barriers exporting biodiesel into both the European Union and Argentina. That’s a concern to National Biodiesel Board officials as the E.U. has extended its tariffs on U.S. biodiesel for another five years. Vice President of Federal Affairs Anne Steckel says they’re working to get the markets open in the E.U. and Argentina.
She says they’re also watching the latest ruling by the WTO regarding a trade dispute between Argentina and the European Union. Steckel says it was initially a mixed decision.
Steckel says NBB will continue to work on solutions for the increased volumes of biodiesel coming into the U.S. from Argentina.
Steckel says both countries have 60 days to file an appeal in their WTO dispute.
