U.S. Distillers Grain Exports Near Record in 2018

Exports of U.S. dried distillers grains reached the second highest on record in 2018. Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Geoff Cooper says the close to 12 million metric tons was just below the record high seen in 2015.

He says the reason for the export success is tied to the value of the product and the fact it’s one of the lowest cost feed source for livestock and poultry producers.

Cooper says the top DDG export market remains Mexico, with Vietnam coming in at number two.

Cooper says resolution of a trade dispute with Vietnam led them to re-enter the market in a big way in 2018.
