Two Million Dollars for the Dakota’s Promise Scholarship

The South Dakota Board of Regents has decided to ask the legislature for two million dollars to fund an updated version of the Dakota’s Promise, needs-based scholarship.
Regents President Kevin Schieffer says the state lags in offering those types of scholarships….

Schieffer says it is a priority for him….

Schieffer says their proposal could help several hundred students get an advanced education..

The plan was defeated in this year’s legislative session. The new proposal would open up the scholarships for students to use at any public or private college or university in the state.
