Two Die in Separate South Dakota Highway Accidents

A 67-year-old man died Friday in a motorcycle and semi-truck/trailer crash west of Watertown. .

The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family. The other driver, a 51-year-old male, was not injured.

A 2009 Harley Davidson RS 2009 was westbound on U.S. Highway 212 when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The motorcycle crossed the centerline and into the path of an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500K pickup pulling a trailer.

The motorcycle driver, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle. He later died as a result of his injuries.

One person died and three others were injured Saturday morning in a one-vehicle crash southwest of Sisseton.

Names of the people involved are not being released pending notification of families.

A 2006 Chevrolet Malibu rolled over at the intersection of Nelson Lane and 456th Avenue. The driver, an 18-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three passengers all received minor injuries.

None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating both crashes.
