Two Die in Pennington County Motorcycle – Semi Crash

Two people died and two others were injured Thursday in a crash involving two motorcycles and a semi-truck in Box Elder.

The names of the people involved are not being released by state officials pending notification of family members.

Two Harley Davidson motorcycles were westbound on Highway 1416 near the intersection with South Ellsworth Road. The two motorcycles collided with a 2016 Freightliner truck that was turning onto Highway 1416.

The occupants of one motorcycle, the male driver and female passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the other motorcycle both sustained minor injuries. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
