The South Dakota House Education Committee killed a couple of bills related to “Common Core” educational standards, and passed a third.

Another bill that would have allowed parents to keep their kids from taking the corresponding test, failed by an 8 to 7 vote. A third bill to require public notice of education hearings on future standards passed on a 13 to 1 vote.
