The Minnesota Twins plan to honor manager Ron Gardenhire for his 1,000th career victory.

The team has scheduled a special pregame ceremony to honor Gardenhire before Wednesday’s 12:10 p.m. game against the Oakland Athletics at Target Field.

The ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will include a video featuring some of Gardenhire’s milestones as well as a gift presentation from the Twins organization.

Gardenhire notched his 1,000th career victory when the Twins beat Cleveland 7-3 on Saturday. Gardenhire, who has managed Minnesota since 2002, joined Tom Kelly as the only managers in Twins history to reach 1,000 wins.
