Gabriel Ynoa struck out eight over 4 2/3 innings in his first major league start and the New York Mets completed a three-game sweep of the woeful Minnesota Twins with a 3-2 victory Sunday.
Michael Conforto drove in two runs with a first-inning, opposite-field single off Kyle Gibson (6-10) and T.J. Rivera added a solo home run in the third. Lucas Duda went 0 for 2 in his return from a stress fracture in his lower back, an injury that had sidelined him since May 20th.
Kennys Vargas homered for the Twins and Robbie Grossman went 4 for 4.
The Twins are off Monday before returning home to host Detroit Tuesday.
